Making Sense of Fitness After 50

Questions are part of getting started.

You are not expected to understand exercise before you begin. Here are straightforward answers to the questions you may have about Level 1, how the support works and what happens after you join.

01

Is this right for me?

Do I need to be fit before I start?

No. Level 1 was created for women who do not feel fit, confident or certain about exercise. You do not need to prepare yourself before joining. The purpose of Level 1 is to give you a safe, manageable place to begin.

What if I have not exercised for years?

That is completely fine. You may not have exercised since school, or you may walk, swim or attend classes without ever having been shown the foundations of strength training. We begin with what you can do now, not what you think you should be able to do.

Is there an upper age limit?

No fixed upper age limit applies. Age alone does not decide whether Level 1 is suitable. Your current health, movement and individual circumstances matter more, which is why you complete a health and readiness form before your first session.

What if I cannot get onto the floor?

You will not need to get onto the floor for Level 1. The starting movements use a chair, a wall or a seated position. The routine is designed to remove that barrier rather than make you work around it alone.

What if I have an injury or medical condition?

Tell me about it on your health and readiness form. I will review the information before we meet and discuss any appropriate changes with you. In some circumstances, I may ask you to speak to your GP or another healthcare professional before starting.

02

How does Level 1 work?

Do I need a gym, weights or other equipment?

No gym or weights are needed. Level 1 uses bodyweight movements and ordinary things you already have at home, such as a stable chair and a clear section of wall.

What happens during my first Zoom session?

Your first 45-minute Zoom session includes a simple movement check and an introduction to the foundational exercises. I will demonstrate each movement, watch you try it and make adjustments so that your starting routine fits you.

How often will I exercise?

Your routine will be manageable enough to repeat consistently. We will agree how it fits into your week during your Zoom session rather than forcing it into a schedule that does not suit your life.

How will I know whether I am doing the movements correctly?

You will practise the movements with me during your Zoom session and receive clear demonstration videos to refer back to. You can also ask questions through the messaging support if something does not feel clear between sessions.

What support will I receive between sessions?

You can message me Monday to Friday with questions about your routine or how a movement feels. I will respond within one working day.

03

What is and is not included?

What does my monthly support include?

Your £75 monthly payment includes:

  • one 45-minute Zoom session with Lesley
  • your individual starting routine
  • clear exercise demonstration videos
  • Monday to Friday messaging support
Is this a weight-loss programme?

No. Making Sense of Fitness After 50 is focused on helping you begin strength training, learn the movements and build consistency. Weight loss is not the measure of your progress.

Will I receive nutrition or menopause advice?

No. This is a deliberately focused exercise service. You will not be given a meal plan, calorie target or a generic menopause programme. The work is about movement, strength and building a realistic training habit.

What happens when I am ready to progress?

We will review what you can do, what feels comfortable and what you want to work towards. Your next step may include progressing the movements or introducing weights, but there is no pressure to move on before you are ready.

04

Payment and joining

Is there a minimum commitment?

Level 1 begins with a one-month commitment. After your first month, your subscription continues monthly unless you choose to cancel. Your payment renews on the same date each month.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel by emailing me at least seven calendar days before your next payment date. This gives me time to stop the automated payment before it is processed.

If your request is received less than seven days before your renewal date, the next monthly payment may still be taken. Your support will continue until the end of that paid month and no further payments will be collected.

This does not affect your statutory cancellation rights. Full details are available in the Terms and Conditions .

What happens after I pay?

Once your payment has been received, I will email you with a short health and readiness form to complete and ask for your availability for your first Zoom session.

Once I have reviewed your form and we have agreed a suitable time, your Zoom link will be emailed to you.
